Elsie Fisher

Elsie Fisher is a spunky and fun seven-year-old girl with a heart bigger than she is. Elsie started acting a few years ago, starting with commercials. Her dad told us that right now, Elsie has four national commercials airing; that’s amazing! However, most of us would know Elsie’s sweet voice from the new film DESPICABLE ME. Elsie stars in the film as Agnes. “Agnes, well, she is basically a little girl that is an orphan and she really, really loves unicorns,” she said excitedly. “She also has two bigger sisters.” Her sisters are played by Nickelodeon star Miranda Cosgrove and newcomer Dana Gaier. The orphans are introduced as being sent door to door selling cookies, when they reach Gru’s (Steve Carrell) door he shoo’s them away, that is, until he realizes they may be good for something.

Elsie tells us that working on the movie was a lot of fun, but a lot of work. “It took probably about a year and a half to film,” she told us. “But I really liked working on the movie because I got to meet a lot of friends.” Sometimes when you do a voiceover role, actors will alter their voices to fit a type of character; however, Elsie tells us that for Agnes, she used her own voice. “My favorite scene to do was when I said IT’S SO FLUFFY!” she said in her best Agnes voice, followed by lots of laughter. Elsie has it all, natural talent, personality and of course, the look. “I want to act for a long time,” she said to us, “but, later when I grow up, I also want to be a scientist!”

Elsie isn’t all work and no play, of course – she told us what her absolute favorite thing to do is: “My favorite thing to do is play video games. I love Pokemon; I’m going to get a new Pokemon game soon.”
